Kevin Roberts, Chief Executive of AHDB, said: "Nick knows farming and knows
the industry and I am confident that he is the right person to manage the delivery
of the beef and lamb strategy developed by the EBLEX Board. As part of my Executive
Management Team he will also help us to achieve the sought-after operational
efficiencies from the new integrated levy board structure."
EBLEX chairman John Cross said: "Nick has a lot of experience of the issues
impacting on the cattle and sheep sectors and I look forward to working with
him to continue to add value to our levy payers."
Nick said he was looking forward to taking up the post and tackling the challenges
ahead. "This is a dynamic and exciting time for agriculture. I passionately
believe that the beef and lamb sectors have great long term future, but recognise
there are many serious challenges ahead. I am determined to make sure EBLEX
serves the industry well and provides our stakeholders with good value for money."
Henry Lewis, Chairman of BLG, has also welcomed Nick's appointment. He said
"EBLEX have been major supporters of the initiatives to market English Beef
and Lamb products and genetics in global markets, to the benefit of the sector
