British livestock exhibitors at the Eurotier international agricultural show
in Hanover last week took a high level of enquiries for cattle and sheep genetics
from more than 20 countries around the globe.

There was keen interest in proven bulls from all the main beef and dairy breeds
as well as enquires for beef breeding stock and dairy heifers from new markets
in Eastern European countries and regular customers throughout the EU.
Sheep and goat genetics were also in demand from countries as far afield as
Angola, Israel and Italy, as well as the host country.
British pig breeding companies, who lead the world in modern breeding techniques
and who are represented globally also reported keen interest in their highly
desirable and efficient genetics, tailored for modern pig production under
a wide range of environments.
The biennial Eurotier exhibition boasts more than 1750 trade stands from 45
countries and attracts a worldwide audience of around 130,000 visitors from
65 countries
British livestock exhibitors at the show were supported by EBLEX, the British
Livestock Genetics Consortium (BLG) and the Livestock and Meat Commission of
Northern Ireland, with Government funding from UK Trade and Investment.
