The first Limousin calves bred by semen exports from the
bull Marquis from the Glenrock herd, Scotland, were born about a month
ago at the stud farm in Northern Victoria, Australia, operated by Tim
Keys and his family.
Tim reports that all the Marquis calves born thus far have
been un-assisted and are very long and just what is needed these days.
He is very impressed with their type as well as their growth, and their
temperament appears to be very good. Tim says they have entered into their
dry summer again and the cows and calves will have to make do on some
pretty average dry feed! But they have been there before and come out
well.
