The latest sire from the Montbeliarde breed to join
the Genus stud - Louksor - is expected to generate high interest, particularly
from the increasing number of farmers looking to cross-breed from animals
with good milk and beef qualities.
Says Bill Foster, a Genus breeding specialist: - Louksor
joins three other proven Montbeliarde sires at our stud, Natif, Nerac
and Mistouflon. The breed has high milk quality and great beefing potential,
and it has caught the attention of farmers seeking these attributes for
cross-breed programmes.
Louksor is one of the best Montbeliarde bulls in France
for beef value and he is an excellent choice for high milk protein, says
Bill Foster. “Montbeliardes have the advantage of excellent French
genetics and I have high hopes for what this sire will achieve for farmers
who use him.
